Regeneration in the heart of Codrii since 1959.

The Codru Balneary Complex was founded in 1959, becoming the first balneoclimatic establishment of its kind in the Republic of Moldova. Located in the heart of the Codrii forests, the sanatorium has its roots in the Republican Balneological Hospital in the village of Hîrjauca, established on the grounds of the former Harjauca Monastery for men. At that time, the sanatorium provided treatments for 260 patients, laying the foundation for a tradition of balneary care and recovery that continues to this day.

Between 1974 and 1982, the sanatorium underwent a significant transformation with the construction of a new modern complex designed to provide high-standard treatment and accommodation. Two dormitory blocks were added, with a total capacity of 460 beds, along with a 600-seat canteen, a cultural center, a modern polyclinic, and a fully equipped balneological facility. Sports and leisure facilities were also developed, consolidating the Codru Balneary Complex as a top destination for recovery and relaxation.

From 1998 to 2009, a new stage of modernization took place, during which the infrastructure and medical services were renovated and upgraded to modern standards. The accommodation blocks were completely refurbished, now offering twin rooms, semi-luxury and luxury suites, all equipped with modern amenities. The treatment base was outfitted with advanced technology, and the departments of balneology, physiotherapy, and the swimming pool were entirely renovated.

In 2020, the balneary complex continued to expand its capacity by inaugurating a new dormitory block with 53 single rooms, thus ensuring an increased level of comfort and privacy for patients.

Today, the Codru Balneary Complex remains faithful to its mission of offering high-quality medical treatments in a unique natural setting. With a combination of extensive experience and modern infrastructure, the balneary complex continues to be an oasis of health and regeneration, where patients can benefit from the harmony of nature, tradition, and medical innovation.
